The annual International Workers’ Memorial Day 2021 on Wednesday 28th April this year has a theme encouraging the adoption of robust occupational safety and health systems to support workers facing the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. The International Labour Organisation (ILO) aims this year’s theme at both a Governmental / National level, and at individual organisations.
The World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2021 is an opportunity for stakeholders to raise awareness and stimulate dialogue on the importance of creating and investing in resilient OSH systems, designed to mitigate and prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the workplace.
International Workers’ Memorial Day or International Commemoration Day for Dead and Injured, takes place annually around the world on April 28, an international day of remembrance and action for workers killed, disabled, injured, or made unwell by their work. The Covid-19 theme this year is very poignant, given the thousands of workers around the world who have been infected or have died through contracting Covid-19 at work. We will remember them, and we thank them for their sacrifice – and we will continue to strive to deliver Covid-19 solutions.
